ONLINE FIRST: Thursday's high school wrestling schedule changed
Note correction concerning Senior Night activities in the third paragraph. Also, the time of the Columbus-Fort Scott make-up dual has been set.
Fort Scott High School Athletic Director Larry Fink announced in an e-mail Thursday morning that adjustments have been made to the schedule of events at a varsity/junior varsity wrestling dual scheduled for tonight at the FSHS gymnasium.
Because Columbus did not have school today, the Titans are unable to attend what was to have been a Southeast Kansas League triangular. Tonight's event has been changed to a dual between Chanute and Fort Scott.
Senior night activities for the wrestling team will take place prior to the beginning of wrestling action at 6:15 p.m. The dual between Chanute and Fort Scott will begin at approximately 6:30.
Columbus had not yet competed in a league dual until Tuesday night, when the Titans were finally able to wrestle Pittsburg and Independence. This is the final week of the regular season.
Word from earlier in the week is that SEK schools that have not been able to wrestle each other will be gathering in Pittsburg Saturday to hold their matches. There is no word at this time whether a Columbus-Fort Scott dual would now be a part of this event. With tonight's postponement, the Titans will have missed six of the eight scheduled league duals.
The Columbus-Fort Scott dual will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday in Pittsburg.
