ANNA MARIE ENDICOTT

Friday, February 4, 2011

Anna Marie Endicott, 81, of Fort Scott, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011 at the Mercy Health Center.

She was born Dec. 14, 1929 in Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of Elva and Alice Carey (Wood) Shackelford.

She is survived by three daughters, Amy Boyd, of Redfield; Linda Lee, of Hammond, Kan.; and Carey Mooney, of Nevada, Mo.; a sister, Carey Lee Wileman, of Fort Scott; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Finis Spencer and Leo Endicott; a son, Mark Spencer; a daughter, Janice McReynolds; a step-son, Richard Endicott; two sisters, Jessie Shelton and Rosalie Stout; and two brothers, Earle and Robert Shackelford.

Anna Marie enjoyed hobbies and activities in her lifetime. Everybody knew her passion for horses, which took her from riding bare-back to school as a child, to riding on a silver saddle -- decked out for the local parades. It is safe to say Anna loved the outdoors. Not only could she shoot a gun as well as any man, she more than likely out-fished them all ... and has the stories and pictures to back her up! Anna also loved to garden and camp; these are activities she loved sharing with her family and friends.

Funeral services for Anna Marie Endicott will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:30 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in the East Liberty Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Cherry Grove Baptist Church and sent to the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall St., P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, Kan., 66701.
