City offers Christmas tree disposal program

The city of Fort Scott Public Works Department will be picking up discarded Christmas trees at no charge for residents again this year.

Pick-up dates are Thursday, Dec. 30 and Friday, Jan. 7, Friday, Jan. 14 and Jan. 21, 2011.

The discarded trees will be used to enhance fish and wildlife habitat in the city-owned water structure properties.
