FSHS junior varsity volleyball sweeps
FORT SCOTT -- Fort Scott High School's junior varsity volleyball team swept a home triangular at the FSHS gymnasium Thursday night, beating Independence and Labette County.
The Tigers (13-8) defeated Independence, 25-17, 22-25, 17-15. Shelby Maycumber had 17 digs for the Tigers while Ericah Shoemaker had 16 digs. Rikki Butler served 2 aces, Sidney Maycumber had 8 kills and Katren Rienbolt dished 18 assists.
FSHS avenged a loss from earlier in the year by beating Labette County, 25-23, 14-25, 15-12. Shoemaker, Butler and Shelby Maycumber each reached double figures in digs. Brianne Lawrence had 7 kills and Maddi Allen had 12 assists.
The Tigers' next matches will be held Monday as they welcome Independence and LCHS again as well as Pittsburg for a quadrangular that will begin at 5 p.m.
