FSCC poet's work chosen for national project

A poem written by Michelle Stevenson, Moundville, Mo., a student at Fort Scott Community College, has been selected to the Kay Ryan's Poetry for the Mind's Joy project. According to the contest's website, Poetry for the Mind's Joy is a national community college poetry contest. Poems were chosen from a group of community colleges. The winning poems were chosen during a competition administered this spring by the Community College Humanities Association. Stevenson's poem, titled "Beyond Measure," will be published in a book sponsored by the Library of Congress that includes the entire collection of winners.
