Senior Swinger Memorial Day dance
It was a nice evening for the Senior Swinger dance Monday. Jim, our main office guy, who does all the book work and helps us, told us he would be down to unlock the main gym for the dance. Mary Sue didn't have the key to unlock the outside doors and we had to contact Jim for that. He carried in the amplifier in and what I needed. He stayed and helped put up the tables and chairs first. Since it was a holiday, we have to cater it all.
We didn't put up the tables and chairs like we did. At 5 p.m. we have to keep us going. Carol and George Davenport were here and they helped Mary Sue and Joe some.
In the meantime, whoever came early did pitch in and help. Joe told me to just leave the tables and chairs up and they would put up everything in the morning.
The coffee was soon made and it smelled good. The tablecloths were on and the necessary things were done.
We all went to the funeral on Monday morning.
We had several doing the line dance, but not as many as we usually have.
We haven't heard how Lucille Sumaker is. They have missed the past two weeks.
We had a nice lunch, not as big as usual, but it was good. We have two or three cleaning up the kitchen and it is always sacked up for me.
We got a report that Marvin Taylor had to have three stints put in down at the Joplin hospital. They came home Monday morning and came down to the dance to say hello. They didn't stay very long. We wish him a speedy recovery, it will take him quite awhile to recover.
There will be a dance Friday night at Cadmus.
Our dance was small but we hope the size of the dance will be bigger.
The music is doing very well.
