KDOT holding surplus auction May 20

MANHATTAN -- The Kansas Department of Transportation will work in conjunction with Purple Wave Auction to auction more than 300 items in an online auction May 20.

KDOT has held two previous online auctions whch have generated nearly $1.4 million, turning its unused equipment into liquid assets that can be put back into the state's communities.

Purple Wave helps KDOT save money by selling each item where it sits, thus not using taxpayer dollars to transport items to and from auctions.
