Riverfront Authority hosting design workshop

Tuesday, May 11, 2010

Local residents now have the opportunity to help develop the Fort Scott Riverfront Park and Trails.

Public input was sought beginning Monday evening when the Fort Scott Bourbon County Riverfront Authority, along with Patti Banks and Associates, held a meeting to involve the community in the planning of the project.

In addition to Monday evening's meeting, the community was also invited to take part in a design workshop Tuesday morning. Another design studio was held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. The workshops will be wrapped up with a presentation of the proposed design from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight. All meetings will be held in the River Room located above the Buffalo Grill, 3 W. Oak St.

The purpose of the design sessions is to develop plan documents that can be used in the future for applying for grants, fundraising opportunities, and publicity.

There is no charge to attend the sessions.
