St. Paul sweeps Eagles
BRONSON -- Errors were deadly for Uniontown's baseball team as it was swept in a Three Rivers League make-up doubleheader at Dawson Field here Friday, 17-12 and 9-7.
The Eagles (2-4 TRL, 5-9 overall) committed 8 errors in each game.
St. Paul scored 11 runs in the first 3 innings of the opener in taking what proved to be an insurmountable lead.
The Eagles managed 11 runs over the final four innings but the Indians scored 6 runs themselves in that span.
Ty Clayton went 3 for 4 for Uniontown, scoring twice and driving in 3 runs. Du'Shaun Robinson was 2 for 2 with 4 runs batted in. Max Labbe went 2 for 5 and also drove in 4. Jordan Woods stole two bases.
The Eagles held a 5-1 lead after two innings of the second game before errors let them down again. The Indians tied the score with 3 in the fourth and took the lead with 2 runs in the fifth.
Uniontown scored twice in the bottom of the seventh but couldn't rally all the way back.
Clayton went 2 for 4 for Uniontown while Kyle Mills was 2 for 2. Garret Murrow drove in 2 runs.
