Class No. 10 met on Wednesday, April 21, in Christian Church Bungalow with six ladies and a pair of twins, Lance and Landon Long from Richmond, Mo., who came with their grandmother, Betty Dehn. Following the business meeting and refreshments time, the twins were entertainment for Mae Watt, Patty Peterson, Mary V. Shead, Carole Garrison and Judy Rawlings who held them while pictures were taken.
Roll Call asked for thoughts about the worst winter each could recall. The thought of the time city water pipes froze and the whole city was without faucet facilities for about two weeks. Water was hauled in cream cans from the city water works to individual homes. It made for interesting discussion. The future meeting for Class No. 10 will be May 19. It will be the last one until September. That one will be in memory of Wanda Norris, who was the usual chairman that month. Her favorite refreshments were lime and strawberry sherbert served with ice cream cookies.
Patty Peterson closed the April meeting with Lord's Prayer and Irish Blessing. As hostess she served strawberry shortcake with coffee in the dining room so all could watch the twins enjoy their time on their blanket on the floor.
On Wednesday of last week, Rose Campbell of Pittsburg was in Arcadia visiting Mary V. Shead. They were both Home Ec teachers after graduating from PSU, now retired. In a recent article written by Carolyn Thornton for the Nevada Daily Mail about school memories, she listed names of former teachers in the area.
