ROBIN SMITH SCIORTINO
Robin Smith Sciortino, age 74, a resident of Sequim, Wash., died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2009, in Washington.
She was born May 29, 1935, in Inverness, Miss., the daughter of Hiram Whetstone Smith and Wilma Tolar Smith.
Robin married Lew Sciortino on Oct. 4, 1976.
She had received her BA Degree from Millsap College in Jackson, Miss.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Sequim.
She also did volunteer work for the Sequim Dungeness Hospital Guild.
Other memberships included the PEO, Daughter of the Nile, Tirzah Club No. 5 of Hatasu Temple No. 1, and the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include her husband, Lew, of the home in Sequim; a daughter, Cathy Coomer; step-son, Ben Sciortino, and a step-daughter, Christi Ann Fowler.
Also surviving is a brother, Preston Smith, Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Wilma Jean Douglas, Inverness, Miss., and Bessie Montgomery, Starkville, Miss., and four granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a step-son, Dan Sciortino.
There was cremation.
Rev. Paul Babcock will conduct graveside services at 10 a.m., Thursday in Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
