Una Erline Bowles, age 85, former resident of Deerfield, Mo., died Saturday, April 10, 2010, at the home of family members in Mapleton, Kan.

She was born Oct. 28, 1924, in Redfield, Kan., the daughter of Harry E. Wilson and Pearl Gunsolley Wilson.

Una was a 1942 graduate of Fort Scott High School.

She married Lawrence Bowles on March 20, 1943, in Nevada, Mo.

She worked for 20 years as a seamstress for Key Works Clothes both in Nevada and Fort Scott.

She was a member of the Deerfield Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence, of Mapleton; one son, Leon Bowles and wife Frances, Fort Scott; four sisters, Wylma Campbell and Norma Fitzsimmons, both of Fort Scott, Barbara Bolinger, Olathe, Kan., and Dora Henning, Topeka, Kan.

Also surviving are four grandchildren, Monique Danley, Leon Bowles Jr., Justin Bowles and Tina Bowles; and four great grandchildren, Danielle Cavin, Scotty Umphenour, Amanda Bowles and Brody Bowles.

She was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Bowles Jr., two sisters, Neta Durbin and Thelma Darlington, and an infant brother.

Pastor Bill Smith will conduct funeral services at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in U. S. National Cemetery.
