2010 Spring Citywide garage sale set for April 17

Plenty of bargains will soon be available to area residents who are in the mood to shop.

The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce recently announced that the 2010 Spring Citywide Garage Sale will take place Saturday, April 17. The chamber is currently accepting entries for garage sale listings. The deadline to enter a listing is Monday, April 12. Maps will be available at the chamber office, 231 E. Wall St., and the Country Cupboard, 12 N. Main St., on Thursday, April 15.

The Pioneer Harvest Fiesta will conduct its annual swap meet on Friday, April 16, and Saturday, April 17, at the Bourbon County Fairgrounds located at the corner of 23rd and Horton streets. The event will begin at 8 a.m. each day.

Several types of farm and antique machinery, equipment, parts and related items and accessories, as well as other items typically found at garage sales and flea markets, will be available for sale at this event. The event is open to the public and there is no admission charge, however, vendors will be charged a $10 fee to set up booths at the event.

The fairgrounds will be open Thursday, April 15, for vendors to set up booths. Camping will be available for $12 per day at the fairgrounds.
