West Bourbon screenings slated April 15

USD 235 will conduct screenings of prospective kindergarten students from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 15, and Friday, April 16, at West Bourbon Elementary School, 602 Fifth St., Uniontown.

Youngsters must be at least 5 years of age on or before Aug. 31 to participate in the 30-minute screenings, which will be scheduled by appointment. Parents must bring birth certificate, Social Security number and immunization records. Free physical exams and free immunizations will be available for interested students on Friday, April 16.

Vision, hearing, speech and developmental screenings for preschool children will be conducted at WBE on April 16. Appointments for youngsters 2 years of age or younger can be made by calling Birth to Three Program official Beth Case at (620) 249-2949. Appointments for preschool children 3-5 years of age can be scheduled by calling Debbie Potter at 235-3152.

Parents should be aware that this is not a screening for the At-Risk Preschool for 4-year-old children.
