Dorothy Evelyn Ketner, age 91, former resident of Garland, Kan., and more recently of 1320 S. Horton, Fort Scott, Kan., died early Saturday, March 13, 2010.

She was born July 16, 1918, in Vernon County, Mo., the daughter of Franklin Clary and Charity Elizabeth Hoggatt Clary.

She married Melvin Ketner in 1937 in Nevada, Mo. He preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1984.

Dorothy was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She was a 60 year plus member of the Topas Chapter No. 325 Order of Eastern Star where she held all chapter offices including Worthy Matron which she served more than once. She also served as State District Aide, Grand Page, and Grand Representative of Kansas. Other memberships include the White Shrine, Thrift Circle Club, 60 Plus Club and past president of the Clarksburg Cemetery Association.

Dorothy's hobbies included needlepoint, crocheting and quilting.

Survivors include two sons, Marvin Ketner and wife Brenda, Castle Rock, Colo., and David Ketner, Show Low, Ariz.; one daughter, Carol Davis and husband Roy, Fort Scott; and a brother, Fred Clary, Deerfield, Mo.

Also surviving are four grandchildren; Douglas Ketner and wife Julie, Erin Ketner-Scott and husband Don, Bryan Davis and wife Donna, and Darrin Davis. There are seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Vena Richmond, and two infant grandchildren.

Pastor Rick Womack will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m., Wednesday in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
