'Hound men drop pair in West Plains

WEST PLAINS, Mo. -- Fort Scott Community College's men fell to 3-9 on the season after dropping both games at the Missouri State-West Plains Classic here over the weekend.

Friday, the Greyhounds fell to MSU-WP 58-45. Saturday, they dropped a close one to Arkansas Baptist, 64-60.

MSU-West Plains stands at 12-3 on the season and has gained votes in the NJCAA Division I Poll. The Grizzlies defeated Fort Scott, 64-48, i the season opener at Arnold Arena.

Friday night, Gage Wooten -- who scored just 4 points in the first meeting -- led MSU-WP with 15 points. Ramell Taylor led the 'Hounds with 10.

The Grizzlies led 30-13 at halftime.

Robert Hatcher led the 'Hounds with 13 points on Saturday night while Taylor added 11. Fort Scott could not overcome a 10-point halftime deficit (35-25).

The Greyhounds are idle until Jan. 8 and 9 when they to go the Jayhawk Shootout at Coffeyville. They will play Garden City at 5 p.m. Jan. 8 and Barton County at 9 a.m. Jan. 9 at Coffeyville's Nellis Hall.
