Fort Scott Director of Human Resources Robert Johnson holds back his tears while giving a speech during a reception held Wednesday afternoon at the Hawkins Public Safety Facility. The reception was to celebrate Johnson, whose position was eliminated by request of the Fort Scott City Commission to save money. The reception was hosted by the Fort Scott Police and Fire Departments. Johnson is holding a plaque which was given to him on behalf of the FSPD for serving as interim Director of Public Safety twice during his more than 16 years with the city.
