Arson suspected in Tuesday Arcadia fires
The Kansas Committee on Arson Prevention is offering a reward to anyone who can help them apprehend the individual or individuals responsible for setting two suspicious fires, which occurred in Crawford County on Tuesday.
According to a press release from the Crawford County Sheriff's Department, the first fire was reported around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday at 842 N. 250th Street, Arcadia, at an abandoned house. As a result of the fire, the house burned to the ground causing $5,000 worth of damage. Although the Arma Rural Fire District No. 2, Crawford County Sheriff's Department and the Kansas State Fire Marshall's Office are still investigating the incident, the fire is believed to have been intentionally set.
The second fire, which was reported just shortly after 3:30 a.m. in Arcadia at 108 W. Race Street was at a building owned by the Coffee House for God, a non-profit organization. The fire resulted in a total loss of the building and $20,000 worth of damage including both the building and the contents. The cause of the fire is still undetermined, but is considered suspicious in nature. The Arcadia Fire Department, Arcadia Police Department, Crawford County Sheriff's Department and the Kansas State Fire Marshal's office are still investigating the incident.

Anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of the person or persons who set the fires or any arson fires in Kansas is eligible to receive a reward up to $5,000 form the Kansas Committee on Arson Prevention, the press release said.
