Relay for Life Survivor dinner set for Tuesday

The Bourbon County Relay for Life Survivor Dinner is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church, 308 S. Crawford St. For more information or to make reservations to attend the event, contact Relay for Life Chairwoman Angela Carpenter at (620) 223-8219. Organizers ask that those interested do not call the church for information. The local chapter is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the national Relay for Life organization this year. The local chapter, which began in 1995, is trying to raise $85,000 during this year's campaign. The 2009 "Retro Relay" Relay for Life event is scheduled to take place from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., June 19-20, at Frary Field. The event will include an all-night relay walk, live entertainment, and a cancer memorial. Relay for Life events raise money for the American Cancer Society and its services and are the premier fundraisers for the ACS.
