Jayhawk teams sweep Prairie View meet

LaCYGNE -- Jayhawk-Linn's track teams swept the team titles at the Prairie View Invitational here Monday. This event was scheduled for Friday but postponed due to rain.

Jayhawk girls won seven events and 19 medals. The boys won 10 events and 17 medals.

Girls' event winners were:

* Taylor Dawson in the 400 meters in 66.5 seconds and in long jump with a mark of 16' 3 1/2".

* Meriel Long in the 1,600 meters in 5:53.0.

* Chelsea Beckman in discus with a mark of 104' 8 1/2".

* Amory Miller in javelin with an effort of 101' 6 1/2".

* Leah Wood in shot put with a heave of 30' 2".

* The 4x100-meter relay team of Beckman, Long, Shelby Krull and Dawson in 53.6.

* The 4x400 relay of Julia Schulz, Long, Krull and Dawson in 4:27.0.

Boys' winners were:

* Mann in the 100-meter dash in 11.69 seconds, long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 10 1/2 inches and triple jump at 43' 4 1/2".

* Hall in shot put at 40 feet even and discus at 119' 8".

* Snyder in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.5 seconds and the 300 hurdles 41.62.

* Sutherland in the 400 meters in 54.59.

* Thyer in the 200 meters in 24.02.

* The 4x100-meter relay team in 45.3.

Jayhawk-Linn will take part at a meet at Northeast Thursday.
