CARL ADAIR TUGGLE
Carl Adair Tuggle, age 94, resident of Arma, Kan., and formerly of Fort Scott, died Sunday evening, April 5, 2009, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., following a fall with head trauma.
He was born Nov. 16, 1914, in Devon, Kansas, the son of Albert Tuggle and Bernadine Newcomb Tuggle.
Carl married Dolores Harrington June 26, 1935, at Fulton, Kan. She preceded him in death on Oct. 25, 1985.
He was a truck driver with Parsons Truck Lines and retired from the United Buckingham Trucking Company of Kansas City in 1972.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Teamsters Union Local No. 41.
Survivors include two daughters: Carroll Ann Darby, Pittsburg, Kan.: and Alyce Faye Tuggle, Branson, Mo.
Also surviving are 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Lee Tuggle; 4 half-brothers: Lee Burns, Norris Burns, J. V. Burns, and Ross Burns and a half-sister, Olive Shull.
Rev. Tim Davish will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Cheney Witt Chapel.
Burial will follow in Centerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
