Fort Scott Skate Park Committee to host event Saturday morning

Monday, March 9, 2009

The Fort Scott Skate Park Committee will be kicking off spring break with an event for the whole family.

The public is invited to a showing of "King of Skate" at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fort Cinema. Admission is free with soda and popcorn available for $2.

"Kind of Skate" stars professional skaters such as Tony Hawk, Bob Bunquist and Mike Vallely attempting stunts for the first time. The movie also displays Danny Way getting into the Guinness Book of World Records twice.

Following the movie a free skate will be available with ramps set up to the side and back parking lots of the theater. Skaters will have two hours following the movie to skate.

Helmets and signed parental permission slips are required to skate. Forms are available at the committee's Web site www.fortscottskatepark.com.
