NETTIE RUTH CULBERTSON

Nettie Ruth Culbertson, 81, of Fort Scott, Kan., passed away Friday, Jan. 30, 2009. She was born May 3, 1927, in Nevada, Mo., the daughter of Webb and Laura (Turner) Cartwright.

Nettie married Ben Culbertson on Nov. 14, 1959 in Miami, Okla. Her primary joy in life was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and sewing, but her favorite place was in the garden.

Nettie is survived by her husband, Ben, of the home, two daughters; Alpha Bohlken and husband Rick, of Fort Scott, Kan.; and Sheila Fox and husband Donnie, of Arma Kan. Three grandchildren; Danielle Arens, Lindsey Fox, and Rachel Fox; two step granddaughters; Anna Blackburn and Mindy Bohlken; a step grandson, Jason Bohlken. She was preceded in death by three sisters; Gertrude Bumgardner, Louise Pate, and Ethel Cartwright; Four Brothers: Jessi Cartwright, Roby Cartwright, Lucian Cartwright and Allen Cartwright; and a Granddaughter; Jessica Arens.

The Rev. Mike Chipman will conduct funeral services 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Antioch Cemetery, in Vernon County, Mo. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. prior to services at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall St., Fort Scott, Kan.
