WELCOME IRENE "BECKY" SIMONS
Welcome Irene "Becky" Simons, age 82, resident of 714 S. Margrave, Fort Scott, Kan., died Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at her home.
She was born May 15, 1926, in Linn County, Kan., the daughter of John Floyd and Lilly Straughn Floyd.
Becky was a graduate of Fort Scott High School.
She married William "Jack" Simons on Nov. 1, 1945, in Fort Scott. He preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 2008.
Becky was retired as a dietician at Mercy Hospital. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and loved to read and cook. She was especially fond of finding antiques at garage sales.
Survivors include two sons: Jack Simons Jr. and wife Cheryl, Mound City, Kan. and Clay Simons, Fort Scott; and one daughter: Connie Seabolt, Fort Scott.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne Davis, and five sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday in U. S. National Cemetery.
