SHE is here!

Rust MO/KS, publishers of the Nevada DailyMail/Fort Scott Tribune have come out with a bold new publication celebrating the women of southeast Kansas and southwestern Missouri.

"We've gathered together some of the best writers in our region to tell the stories of today's women. We're going to talk about the many ways women make life in this area special. We're going to answer their questions, showcase their talents and talk about what's important to them," said Regional Managing Editor Lynn A. Wade.

The premier issue offers a sampling of stories for women and about women in the area. Every story is local, and every story is uniquely tailored to women of this region.

"We're proud of this first edition. You'll want to read this from cover to cover. And you'll want to come back and read it again. It's real. It's personal. It's smart. It's informative, and it's something local women can relate to. It's what I've wished a women's magazine could be," Wade said.

For the reader, stories are carefully selected to be useful and enjoyable. That means that for the advertiser, SHE provides a unique opportunity to make a lasting impression by getting the message in a publication women will read, re-read and share with one another for months to come, says publisher Julie Righter.

Published quarterly, each issue of SHE magazine will be packed full of fantastic features about women who live in your neck of the woods. There'll be inspiring stories of women finding success, finding ways to give back, and finding ways to cope in an ever-changing world. Also, each issue will include regular departments on staples of living like health issues, beauty, cooking and more.

The Spring 2009 issue, coming in March, will include a special bridal section, taking a look at tips and trends, romantic getaways and more. Readers are asked to send in your stories of how you met your spouse, or how he proposed or both to SHE, PO Box 247, Nevada, MO 64772. Readers also may submit suggestions for women they feel should be featured in SHE magazine to the same address, or via e-mail to lwade@nevadadailymail.com, with SHE in the subject line.

"We have a lot more planned for that issue, too -- more of the inspiring stories of women we work with, go to church with, volunteer with, swap childcare tips with; and more of the down-to-earth information you need about health and day-to-day issues," Wade said.

"But don't take our word for it. Pick one up for yourself. It's free, so copies are disappearing fast," Righter said.

The first issue was released this week, and is available at several locations throughout a 50-mile radius of Fort Scott and Nevada.
