Bethany man wins $55,000 Show Me Cash jackpot

Mitchel Booher of Bethany buys a set of Show Me Cash numbers every Saturday for the entire week's worth of drawings. He spends $7 and selects the same numbers, a mixture of birthdays and his favorite NASCAR drivers -- Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr. On Dec. 11 those numbers came through, and Booher was the only winner of the $55,000 jackpot. The winning combination was 7, 10, 22, 33 and 38.

"I've been playing Show Me 5 for probably five years," said Booher. "I just kept playing."

Booher bought the winning ticket at Bethany One Stop, 101 25th St. in Bethany. He plans to stick with his tradition and lucky numbers.

A big fan of NASCAR, Booher said they would get debt-free and then "play a little bit" with the rest of it.

"I've been to Talladega six times," said Booher. "But since we had kids, we haven't been able to go back. I think we'll go back now."

Booher, 29, is a sheet-metal worker at Johnson Controls in Albany. His wife, Hillary, and their two daughters accompanied him to Kansas City to claim their prize.

"It will make life a little easier," said Cox.
