ALMA MASON

Alma L. Mason 74, of Pittsburg, Kan., died 9:20 a.m. Friday Dec. 12, 2008 at her son's home following a long illness.

Alma was born June 18, 1934 in Humboldt, Kan. to John J. and Alice A. (Carr) Heimberg. She was a lifelong resident of Pittsburg, Kan. She attended area schools in Humboldt, Kan.

On Jan. 5, 1959 she married Lowell W. Mason in Chanute, Kan.; they later divorced. She spent most of her life caring for her family and raising her children. Later she worked as a dietician for Medicalodge in Pittsburg, Kan. for 13 years.

Alma was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, Kan. She enjoyed crossword puzzles.

Survivors include children Daniel Mason of Pittsburg, Kan., Sandra Mason of Pittsburg, Kan., Randle Mason of Pittsburg, Kan. and Ron Mason and wife Lerina of Smithville, Mo.; brother Frank Heimberg of Humboldt, Kan.; grandchildren Sheena Hill and husband Sam, Reyka, Randy, Daniel, Candy, Aaron and Arika Mason; and seven nieces and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters: Dorothy Pollet and Lucille Pollet.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m., Thursday Dec. 18, 2008 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, Kan., with Fr. Thomas Stroot officiating.

Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, Kan.

Informal visitation will be from 12 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 17, 2008 at the Funeral Home in Pittsburg, Kan.

In lieu of flowers the family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, Kan. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, Kan. 66762.
