Uniontown Ruritan Club has meeting

The Uniontown Ruritan Club met Oct. 20, at the Uniontown Methodist Church Annex with President Lawrence George calling the meeting to order. Dale Jackson led the club in singing "America."
Leo Hartman gave the invocation.
The 20 members present enjoyed a dinner prepared by the United Methodist Women.
Raymond George, Secretary, read the minutes of the September meeting, which were approved as read.
Dale Jackson called for the committee reports. The Building and grounds committee was reported on by Joe George, who stated that the concession stand the concession stand has been winterized.
Chad Holt gave the Treasurers report, reading the balances of the operating fund and also the Foundation Fund, which was approved with proper motion. .
Jake Underwood requested that the four George Brothers who are involved get a photograph made, for him to send to Ruritan National.
Bonnie George requested that a Christmas tree be put up in the Uniontown Park, Jimmy Bolinger had donated tree.
President George thanked the UMW Ladies for the delicious meal which they served.
Randy Rockhold volunteered the Junior High Kay Club to put up the tree and decorate it.
Jake Underwood reported for Ken Holt who was absent, that work is being done to secure a government grant to put concrete curbing on the east and south side of the city park, to build the gazebo, put up playground equipment and a veterans memorial. Matt Noll moved with a second by George Wilkinson that the club give $500 to go towards securing the government grant for these projects, and furnish a letter as was done before, stating that the club would furnish volunteer labor as needed. The motion carried.
The meeting was dismissed by all repeating the Salute to the American Flag.
