Greyhound men even record at 2-2 with win over Sterling JV

HUTCHINSON -- Fort Scott Community College's men evened their season record at 2-2 with am 82-41 victory over the Sterling JV on the final night of the Salt City Classic here Saturday afternoon.

The Greyhounds (2-2) have already scored 80 or more points in two of their four games this season. They exceeded that total in only six games all of last season.

Darrell Blanton led the 'Hounds with 25 points as he made 11 of 14 shots from the field. Kurklin Bohanon was six of seven from the field as he added 19 points. Bohanon and Bryce Kemp combined to connect on six of nine three-point attempts.

Fort Scott outrebounded Sterling, 49-30. Bohanon and Eric Kellogg each grabbed eight boards for the 'Hounds. Bohanon and Conrad Brown each dished five assists.

The Greyhounds are idle until Tuesday, when they will travel to Great Bend in central Kansas to take on Barton County. The Cougars are 3-0 after beating Labette, 114-72, Friday and the Arkansas Tech University junior varsity, 104-54, Saturday in a classic they hosted over the weekend. The Cougars have scored over 100 points in all three games they have played so far this season, outscoring the Central Christian JV, 113-48, in their season opener.

Fort Scott will also play in a classic hosted by State Fair at Sedalia, Mo., this weekend. The 'Hounds will play State Fair Friday and Moberly Area Saturday.
