Family, friends attend Meisenheimer wedding

July 23 afternoon callers at the home of Elmer and Mabel Miller were Julia Blythe of Uniontown, Betty Horning Smith of Mt. Carroll, Ill., Betty's daughters, Jeanette Ames, Tuscan, Ariz., and Brenda Gable of Mt. Carroll. Betty, Julia, Mabel and Elmer were classmates at Uniontown High School in the 40s. Betty and her daughters were visiting her sister Earnestine Eden and family.

Visitors of church, July 27 were Monte and Sherrell Fall. Birthday offerings were made by Bill and Jennifer Sampson. Pastor Mary's sermon was titled "Practiced Up." Scripture was read from Mark 4: 35-41 and 1 Samuel 17: 32-49.

Congratulations to all the 4-Hers on their hard work preparing for the fair. The community is proud of all of them and the dedicated parents that back their children.

Sunday July 27 afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Milller, Mr. and Mrs. Dustin Miller and family, Glenn Smith, Uniontown and Brett Meisenheimer of Nevada all attended a dinner honoring Daniel Meisenheimer and his fiance at the home of his parents Heather and Jason Meisenheimer in Nevada.

Pastor Mary Atkins met with the Pastor Parish Relations Committee and the Worship Committee at the parsonage, Thursday evening, July 31.

Paula Brewer spent the night July 31, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Barry Vogelbacker and Payton in Spring Hill.

Lorna Slator is home from the hospital and recovering from her recent surgery.

The Hiattville U.M.W. will be hosting a fellowship Tea at the church, August 16 at 2 p.m. All ladies in the community are invited to attend. Invitations have been issued to all churches in the Parish as well as Farlington, Girard, Paint Creek and Mt. Orum.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Dustin Miller and family attended the wedding of Daniel Meisenheimer and his fiancee Samantha at the 1st United Methodist Church in Nevada July 28.

Several families in the community are on vacation this week.

Worship assistants for the month of August are Joe Ludlum, liturgist; John and Lorna Slater, ushers; and Don and Patty Gauthier, greeters. Pastor Mary's sermon was titled "Picking Up Sticks." Scripture was read from Hebrews 13: 15, 1 Thessalonians 5: 18 and Acts 16: 16-34.

The Monthly Potluck will be held August 9. There will be a practice for the churches special number for the Parish picnic on August 24.

The community is invited to the 25th wedding anniversary reception for Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Davis of Scott City at the church August 10, hosted by Mrs. Beverly Davis.
