Hundreds paid tribute to Alvin Sipe, of Devon, at the funeral Saturday at the Devon Methodist church. It was one of the largest funerals ever held in the vicinity. Half the people were standing outside the church building. A male quartet, composed of Warren Snider, Louis Haart, Harry McMains and Earl Konantz, was accompanied by Mrs. Frank Decker. The Rev. J.H. Anderson, of Fulton, gave consolation in prayer and scripture reading to the relatives and the host of sorrowing friends. Mr. Sipe, in all his relations in life, lived the Golden Rule. Interment was in the Centerville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Cecil Caray, Archie Pellett, Russell Mattocks, Lee Foy, Kenneth Grubb and Cliff Hall.
