JANICE LEA MCREYNOLDS

Janice Lea McReynolds, age 57, resident of 518 S. Pyle, Fort Scott, Kan., died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at the Mercy Health Center. She was born July 28, 1950 in Granite, Ill., the daughter of Finis L. Spencer and Anna Marie Schackelford Spencer. Janice was a 1968 graduate of Fort Scott High School. She married George Edwin McReynolds in August 1968 at Fort Scott. Janice was a member of the Cherry Grove Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Kansas Association for Education of Young Children. She loved working with children and researching family geneology. Survivors include her husband, George Edwin, of the home; one son, Jason Ryan McReynolds and wife Holly, Fort Scott; and her mother, Anna Marie Endicott, Fort Scott. Also surviving are three sisters, Amy Boyd and husband Kent, Redfield, Kan., Linda Lee and husband Roger, Hammond, Kan., Carey Mooney and husband Tim, Nevada, Mo., and three grandchildren, Andrew, Zoey and Jacob McReynolds. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Mark L. Spencer.

Rev. Dale Cummins and Rev. R.B. Shoemaker will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m., Friday, in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in U.S. National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Cherry Grove Baptist Church and may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O.
