WICHITA -- Fort Scott High School's track team had just three events Saturday -- all of them in boys' competition -- at the Kansas Class 4A State Track and Field Meet at Wichita State University's Cessna Stadium here Saturday.

The only medal was won by the boys' 4x100-meter relay team, which finished seventh in finals with a time of 44.99 seconds. Seniors Alex Barner, Brandon Boyd and Jake Clements and junior Mitchell Stoughton were listed as the runners on the relay. Andale, which had the best time in Friday's preliminaries, won the final in 43.54 with Concordia second in 44.20 and Mulvane third in 44.43.

Fort Scott's other events Saturday were boys' high jump and the boys' 100-meter dash. In high jump Clements finished eighth, missing out on a medal on tie-breakers, after he was one of four to clear six feet, two inches. Barner was 10th at 5 10". Micheal Hollembeak, a junior from Lenexa St. James Academy, was the winner on tie-breakers after he and two others cleared 6' 6".

Stoughton ran in the 100 prelimiaries early Saturday morning but was 13th in 11.61. Only the top eight times in prelims advance to finals.

Overall, Tiger boys brought home three medals after Clint Lawrence finished second in javelin and Boyd was fourth in the long jump on Friday. Boyd has won a total of five State medals in his high-school career -- two this year, two last year at Uniontown and one in 2006 at Uniontown.
