Jayhawk-Linn teams both finish in sixth place; Girls' relay takes Class 3A crown
WICHITA -- Both Jayhawk-Linn track teams finished in sixth place in Class 3A at the Kansas State Track and Field Championships at Wichita State University's Cessna Stadium here Saturday.
Coincidentally, both the boys and girls scored 28 team points. The girls shared sixth place with Allen-Northern Heights while the boys held their spot outright.
Jayhawk girls' were led by a State champion 4x400-meter relay team. Sophomore Morgan Eastwood, senior Brogan Hoover, junior Cassie Rockers and sophomore Taylor Dawson clocked in at 4:10.95 to win by nearly a full second over Conway Springs. Whitewater-Remington was in third place, another second and a half behind Conway Springs.
The Jayhawks had finished with the fourth-best time in the preliminaries on Friday in 4:11.89. They were the only team to shave any time off their prelim time.
