While there, they visited many sights of interest including the Cirque Du Soleil to see "LOVE". They enjoyed dinner with Ryan's sister who lives in Las Vegas.
Another occasion of celebration by the Parrishes and relatives including Christie and Wayne, Jenny, Ryan, Allyson, Karter and Kadin Dugan, Mildred Nicoletti, Joan and Gene Dugan, Vera and John Parrish, Janet, Mark and Tara VanLeeuwen when they had dinner at the Rockin' K. On Saturday evening, May 3, the JOY Sunday School Class of the Arcadia Christian Church, celebrated its 52 Anniversary. 13 of the classmates gathered in Ft. Scott at 5:30 p.m. for dinner at the Kress Tearoom and Pie Pantry on South Main Street. Each ordered his/her choice from the menu and enjoyed the fellowship throughout the dinner hour. The blessing was given by Betty Dehn. The class was honored with the birthday song by all as the waitresses presented chocolate birthday cakes. The JOY secretary, Vera Parrish, read a brief history of the class activities throughout the years. There are many antiques to see in this tea room, so it was enjoyable wandering through the store upon our departure. Some even tried on the red hats.
Others in attendance who were welcomed by the President Patty Peterson were Mae Watt, Lorene Gibson, Lou Dehn, John Parrish, Wayne and Christy Parrish, Carole Garrison, Mary V. Shead, Gary Peterson and Herman Tyler.

James assisted Pastor David Peterson as he gave an illustrated sermon during worship hour. A large jar; our lives, gravel is time consumed, sand is money spent, the water; urgent matters consume our lives, and rocks represent study , obey, worship and work for God. Not caring for God is the greatest sin, according to Pastor Peterson's sermon.
