Independence, Kas. (AP)--Fort Scott, already well established as a great threat in Kansas junior college track competition, added to its laurels yesterday by defeating Independence. The Fort Scott crew holds two victories over the Kansas City, Kas., junior college aggregation. Russell Davis, yesterday, was the individual star for Fort Scott. He led the field in points finishing first in the shot, javelin and discus. In the discus throw he broke his own record of 124 feet set at Ottawa two weeks ago with a heave of 129 feet, 4 inches. Dingus set a new school record in the pole vault with a mark of 11 feet. The former record was 10 feet, 10 inches, held by Roy Jacobson. Ramsey won the 100-year dash, and his anchor work in the mile relay was outstanding. He took up 8 yards of slack in the final lap and finished about 10 yards ahead of the Independence runner.
