DOROTHY ANN ADAMS
Dorothy Ann Adams, age 77, resident of 1724 Indian Road, Fort Scott, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born March 12, 1930, in Seminole, Okla., the daughter of Jesse Pulliam and Lillie Jose Pulliam. Dorothy married Donald Adams on Aug. 30, 1957, in Nevada, Mo.
She worked for 20 years for Western Insurance, leaving that career in 1970. She then helped her husband in the floor covering business of Adams Carpet Laying until health forced her retirement.
She attended the Grace Baptist Tabernacle. She was a past member of the White Shrine.
Survivors include her husband, Don, of the home; one son, Tim Adams and wife Andrea, Deerfield, Mo.; one brother, Franklin Pulliam, Deerfield; and three sisters, Maudie Robertson, Oklahoma City, Okla., Lois Mosley, Wichita, Kansas, and Ruth Braack, Aberdeen, Wash. Also surviving is a grandson, Donald Adams; and two step-grandchildren, Jenny and Aaron Emery. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Calvin Pulliam.
The Rev. A. F. Collins will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association and may be sent to the Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O.
