Greyhounds beat Friends JV in Hutchinson
HUTCHINSON, Kan. -- Fort Scott Community College's men snapped out of its scoring funk here Friday night, taking a 73-65 win over the Friends University junior varsity at the Airport Steakhouse Classic.
Fort Scott, 4-5, scored just 82 points in total last weekend in its games at the Jayhawk Conference Shootout at Coffeyville. But the Greyhounds shot 51 percent from the field, making 30 of 59 field-goal attempts, and outrebounded the Falcons, 44-33.
Fort Scott also broke out of an five-game 0-for-22 slump from three-point range, going two for two.
Jamill Harris led the 'Hounds with 24 points while Arsenio Williams followed with 12. Josh Sutton, who, along with brother Jeremy, just joined the team this week after finishing up the season with the Greyhound football team, scored nine points and also tied for the team high in rebounds, nine, with Harris.
Brandon Dougherty dished six assists to lead Fort Scott in that area.
The Greyhounds were to play Central Nebraska Saturday afternoon.
