(1907)
The fall reunion of the Scottish Rite Masons has passed into history where it will be accorded a niche far above the record of any previous reunion that bears records in the lodge archives. This was the most notable reunion ever held in the history of the Fort Scott Consistory. A total of 132 took work at this assembly. The visitors were royally entertained every minute they were the guests of the local people.
Send me a check for $200 and I will send you a deed to 10 fine lots in Walnut Hill. Address Mrs. M.L. Unkefer, General Delivery, Wichita, Kan.
The old soldiers were today out cashing their pension vouchers and receiving in return clearing house orders. The old boys seem perfectly content with the new system as the checks were as good as gold.

The heaviest vote ever cast for a presidential election in years in Fort Scott is being put in the ballot boxes here today. At 2:30 this afternoon there were 3,182 votes cast in the nine precincts, and voters were standing in line awaiting a chance to get into a booth. Total registration is 6,661. It is believed that the total vote will go over the 5,000 mark.
HYDE PARK, N.Y., Nov. 8 (AP)--His campaign and Governor Roosevelt slept late today and had breakfast in bed as his fellow countrymen trooped to the polls to vote him into the presidency or back to private life. The Democratic candidate later went for an automobile ride over his Hudson Valley estate. The governor has cast all his ballots at the Hyde Park town hall since he entered public life 22 years ago, except for one occasion when he was out-of-state. Then he voted by mail. He has voted for himself five times--twice for the senate, once for the vice presidency, and twice for governor. He was a winner four of the five times, being beaten in1929 for the vice presidency.

Tigers Win 6-0 over Chanute (By Ron Gallagher)--The Fort Scott High School Tigers were victorious over a ragged Chanute squad 6-0 last night on the Comet field. The Bengals took advantage of a freak second quarter play to move the oval across the Chanute goal line. With 15 seconds remaining before the intermission Gary Clayton passed to Pete Allen, who went wide around right end for 15 yards and was hit on the Chanute 2-yard line where he spilled the ball, which conveniently rolled into the end zone to be recovered by Jerry Wheeler Tiger left end. Unable to make the extra point the local eleven had a six point edge at half-time. Only once during the contest did the Comet offense push past mid-field into Tiger territory.

The Kitchen Kabinet (By Nell Dikeman)--Happy anniversary to sports editor, Dave Wagner, who joined The Tribune staff seven years ago Nov. 4. Through Dave's association I have developed a friendship with his mother, Irene Wagner of Weyauwega, Wis. When Dave leaves on vacation there is always that promise he will bring me more of Irene's wonderful recipes. His last visit home was particularly enjoyable in having 47 family members sharing a reunion in Irene's home.
