Fort Scott Area Chamber dinner set for tonight

The 56th Annual Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Liberty Theatre, 113 S. Main St.

FSACC Board Chairman Bob Marshall recently announced the award recipients. Two businesses will be recognized in the small business category; Nuss and Farmer, P.A., and Atkins Insurance Agency. In the large business category, Mercy Health Center will be recognized. The agriculture business of the year will be presented to Buerge Farms, according to a FSACC statement.

The evening will culminate with the presentation of the most prestigious award, the Keystone Award, a lifetime achievement award that will be presented to a person or couple for several years of accomplishments in the business world and the community.

The cost of the event is $15 per person. Business casual dress is encouraged. Dinner will be catered by Smokin' Mike's BBQ. Tickets are still available by calling (620) 223-3566, or visiting the chamber office at 231 E. Wall St.
