Tigers face tough field at Louisburg Tournament

LOUISBURG -- Fort Scott High School's volleyball team faced some stiff competition at the Louisburg Tournament here Saturday and finished with a 1-5 record on the day.

Fort Scott's only win of the day came against Prairie View, 28-26, 24-26, 25-11. The Tigers, 6-13, lost a three-game match, 25-11, 23-25, 25-13 to Anderson County. They also had a 25-11, 33-31 loss to Class 6A Blue Valley-Stilwell.

Host Louisburg took a 25-14, 25-17 sweep. Lansing, ranked No. 4 in Class 5A by the Kansas Volleyball Association, won 25-9, 25-16. And Paola, No. 3 in Class 4A, won 25-11, 25-20.

Fort Scott hosts Labette County and Independence in a Southeast Kansas League triangular at 5 p.m. Thursday at the FSHS gymnasium.
