Donnie Regan Memorial Poker Run Saturday

A second annual fundraiser to benefit the family of the late Donnie Ragan will start at noon Saturday at Rusty's Sports Bar and Grill, 16 N. National Ave.

The event will be a poker run in which motorcycles and other vehicles will trek 86 miles from Fort Scott to Pleasanton. Each participant will pay $20 for a "hand."

The money is expected to go toward a college fund for Ragan's two children.

Ragan died last September from injuries suffered after he lost control of his Suzuki motorcycle on Broadway Street. He was 30 years-old.

Last year's ride netted $2,000 that went toward Ragan's funeral expenses. Organizers hope to raise more this year.

Participants don't have to ride a motorcycle to attend the fundraiser. Vehicles are welcome.
