WALTER STEPHEN ZIMMERMAN

Prayer services for Walter Stephen (Steve) Zimmerman were held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, 2007, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Joe Nguyen presiding. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2007 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Joe Nguyen, Father James White and Father Gary Sherman, Presiding. Intermet following in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Walter Stephen (Steve) Zimmerman, 70, of Skiatook, died at 7:34 a.m. Friday, AUg. 24, 2007 at St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla.

Steve was born Jan. 7, 1937 in Fort Scott, Kan., to Walter Edward and Kathleen (Guilfoyle) Zimmerman. He grew up and received his education in Fulton and Mapleton. He also attended Fort Scott Community College and Pittsburg State University. He married Michael Anne Condon on June 18, 1960 in Memphis, Tenn., and they made their home in Wichita, St. Louis, Overland Park, Barrington, Ill., Little Elm, Texas and West Of Sperry for the past 34 years. Steve was employed with Penn Well Publishing for 18 years, retiring 2003. Steve was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Steve is survived by his wife: Michael Anne Zimmerman of the home, four children: Pat and wife Susan Zimmerman of Stillwater, Okla., Mike and wife Barbi Zimmerman of Sand Springs, Okla., Camille and husband Dr. Keith Patterson of Owasso, Okla., and Eric and wife Stacy Zimmerman of Flower Mound, Texas, two sisters: Alice Hill of Lenexa and Sherry White of Pittsburg,11 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services and interment were under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
