Sercer fourth at Parsons invitational

CHERRYVALE -- Catherine Sercer finished in fourth place for Fort Scott High School's girls' varsity cross country team in the Parsons Invitational at Big Hill Lake here Thursday.

Sercer clocked in with a time of 14 minutes, 4.72 seconds over the 3,200-meter course. Alicia Whitehurst of Independence was the winner in 13:32.12

Also for the Tigers, Daisy Jones finished in 22nd place in 15:19.79 and Sarah Gray placed 33rd in 16:12.90.

Charlie Sercer was the only Tiger in the five-kilometer boys' race, finishing 22nd in 20:38.38.

Kaylie Harper won the girls' junior varsity race for the Tigers, going over the 3,200 meters in 15:03.71. Kim Henry placed ninth in 16:34. 59. Erica Davis finished 14th in 17;07.72 and Kim Stone was 27th in 21:01.15.

Boys' JV results were not available at press time due to technical problems.

The Tigers will head to Iola next Thursday for the Doc Stiles Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4:30 at Riverside Park.
