LOUISBURG -- Fort Scott High School's volleyball team suffered a sweep at a non-league quadrangular here Thursday.

The Tigers lost to host Louisburg in two games, 25-18, 25-18. Osawatomie picked up a win in three games, 23-25, 25-18, 25-14. Prairie View took a sweep, 25-15, 25-25.

The Tigers, after winning three of their first six matches of the season, fell to 3-8 after the sweep.

"We played well against Louisburg," Fort Scott head coach Carol Bingesser said. "They had a big hitter who really didn't hurt us. But we made some mental mistakes at key points that killed our momentum."

Bingesser said that Annie Gladbach had a good match against Osawatomie.

"We played lights out in the first game," Bingesser said. "Annie came alive, served great and had some killer hits that landed in front of the 10-foot line. Hannah Hawkins served well. But in the next game, we played with no mental toughness, no killer instinct. Too many mental errors. We basically gave them every opportunity to win.

"Prairie View was a very beatable team. Again, too many unforced errors cost us the game."

The Tigers begin Southeast Kansas League play Thursday at Coffeyville.
