Marion Joe "Mouse" Pruitt

Marion Joe "Mouse" Pruitt was born in Fort Scott, Kan., May 19, 1931, to Earl and Grace Pruitt and lived in Fort Scott until he joined the Navy. He served in the U.S. Navy for five years. He leaves his six children, Michael of Belleview, Neb., Donald of Vancleave, Miss., Joi of Olathe, Kan., David of Norfolk, Va., Kenneth of Willow, Alaska, and Christina Leonard of Lawrence, Kan. He also leaves two brothers, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He worked for Boyd Brothers Construction for many years, also for Merrell Construction. And he retired from Wal-Mart in Nevada, Mo., after 15 years of service. He passed away at his daughter's home in Olathe on Aug. 19, 2007. He will be missed by his family and many long time friends in and around Fort Scott, Nevada, and Stanley. Services for Joe (Mouse) Pruitt will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug 22, 2007, at the Cheney Witt Chapel in Fort Scott. Burial with military honors will follow in the U.S. National Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday at the Cheney Witt Chapel from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
