Biles awarded Elks scholarship
FORT SCOTT, Kan. -- Jeffrey Biles, son of Bob and Deanna Biles of Little Rock, Ark., has been accepted at Hendrix College in Conway, Ark. He is a recipient of the Elks National Foundation Scholarship, Arkansas Governor's Distinguished Scholarship, Hendrix College Scholarship, Hendrix Academic Scholarship, and the Odyssey Distinction Award. He is a National Merit Scholar and was named one of the top three Eagle Scouts of 2006 in Arkansas by the Sons of the American Revolution.
Jeffrey was born in Salina, Kan., and moved to Bryan, Texas in first grade. He attended public schools through mid-seventh grade, at which time he joined the home school community in Little Rock. He played soccer for five years and guitar in the church youth band for three years.
Grandparents are Glen and Anna Mae Epp of Hillsboro, Kan., and the late Lloyd and Bertha Biles of Fort Scott, Kan.
