Domestic Science holds annual bridge marathon; awards scholarship

The Domestic Science Club Bridge Marathon ended the club's 2006-'07 season on May 24. A scholarship of $600 was awarded to Amber Miller of Deerfield, who will be entering Crowder College School of Nursing, in the fall.

Winning bridge teams are as follows: Ladies' Division -- first place, Mary Wilson and Betty Wynn; second place, Diane McDonald and Joann Jones; third place, Peggy Lewis and Carol Duncan.

Men's Division -- first place, Maynard Miller and Roy Cunningham; second place, Bill Wynn and Nelson Greenlund; third place, Larry Garton and John Sperry.

Couple's Division -- first place, Ken and Sue Bothof; second place, Diane McDonald and Varian Garton; third place, Ronnie and Joann Jones.

Door prizes were also awarded to the following: Bob Hawks -- Honors; gift certificate from Greenfield's.

Ken Bothof -- Bid and Made Slam; bridge cards from the club.

Sharon Wyckoff -- Trick with a 2; in and out thermometer from Vinyards.

Ken Bothof -- Trumped an Ace; gift certificate from Pizza Hut.

Club members expressed their thanks to the businesses who donated door prizes for many years and especially to the bridge players for their loyalty and support.
