April 29, Debbie and Spencer Gentry, Independence, Mo., were afternoon visitors at the home of Debbie's parents, Joe and Shirley White. They were returning Jordan, Madison Thurston, and Jayden Clark, as they had spent the weekend with their aunt Debbie.
After the Sunday evening services, May 6, Ruth Banwart hosted a youth fellowship for the youth of the Grace Baptist Tabernacle. She served make your own sandwiches, chips, soft drinks, and cookies. They cut their time a little short, due to the storms. Sponsors attending with them were youth pastor, Brian and Brandy Rhoades, and Ron and Linda Center.
Barbara and Jim Lafferty, Fredericksburg, Va., visited and had lunch with Wayne and Marge Stringer. Jim and Marge had attended Junior College together. They had a wonderful time visiting about old times, and old friends.
May 3, Carol Davis, Linda McBride and Shirley White enjoyed attending the Ladies Health for Life program at the Liberty Theater.
Dale and Betty Hixon hosted a Mother's Day lunch for Betty's mother, Dorothy DeCoudres and Betty's aunt, Esther Secrest. Their lunch was topped off with strawberry shortcake and ice cream.
Mary Jo and Robbie Clements, Willard, and Jim and Dee Karleskint, Mayetta, visited with their parents. Tony and Buena Karieskint over Mother's Day weekend.
May 4, Joe and Shirley White enjoyed babysitting with their great-granddaughter, Jayden.
A baby shower was given for Kelsie Jo Collins, and her mommy, Lindsey, the afternoon of May 5. The shower was held at Gunn Park. After playing several games, led by the hostesses, aunts of the honorees, Barbie Johnson and Shelly Russell, Lindsey opened all of her gifts, while the guest enjoyed refreshments of cake, fresh fruit served in a watermelon carved to look like a baby carriage, mints, punch, and iced tea. The cake was baked and decorated with the theme of ladybugs, butterflies, and dragonflies, by her aunt Barbie.
Joe and Shirley White joined others the afternoon of May 13, at the home of Patty and Gary Coteman, for a barbeque.
