Fort Scott High School schedule changes

Thursday, May 10, 2007

Fort Scott High School's golf tournament, its only home appearance on its schedule this year, was moved to Four Oaks Golf Course in Pittsburg. Play will began at 3:30 p.m. Earlier today, it appeared that the tournament was going to be cancelled. Instead, the move to Pittsburg was made, where the course was apparently better suited for play. It is not known at this time how far along the tournament was before rain hit at around 5:30 p.m.

The Southeast Kansas League Relays at Parsons never got started because of lightning in the area. They have been rescheduled for Friday morning at 10 a.m., according to Mack McClure of the Parsons Sun.

Tiger baseball got in one game against Chanute, which was originally a doubleheader that was moved here from Chanute due to flooding on the Blue Comets' home field. The Tigers won the game 5-0 before rain hit just as the seventh inning of the first game was about to start. It was just the second and final official home appearance for the Tigers this season, not counting the game against Parsons that started but was eventually suspended due to rain and thunderstorms.

More details about that game will be in Friday's print edition.

FSHS softball was scheduled to play in Chanute. It's not known at this time how far along that was before it started to rain.
